Billiards Myrtle BeachThe three most common types of games you can play on your table are billiards, pool, and snooker. There are variations on each of these but it is important that you master how to play the standard and basic games first. This will help you easily understand and effectively play the variations.

To effectively play each game, you will need to learn about how they are played, the equipment that is used, and the rules to follow. Each game has its own sets of rules and regulations, and it is important that you study them and keep them in mind when playing.

Different Games You Can Play on Your BIlliards Table

Snooker

To play snooker, you will need 22 balls – one white as the striker ball, 15 red balls, and one yellow, brown, blue, pink, black and green. Balls should be 2/16 inches in diameter. You also need pocketed tables that are about 10 feet long by six feet across. There are also tables that are called English snooker tables which can be as long as 12 feet.

The primary goal for this game is to win as many frames as you can. You need to score the most points in every frame. You earn a score every time you pocket the red and colored balls. When you pocket a red ball, you earn one point, yellow balls are worth two points, green is three points, brown is four points, blue is five points, pink is six points and the black ball is worth seven points.

Rules to remember is to include the order of balls to be pocketed. The balls that you pocket should alternate between red and colored balls. So if you first pocket a red ball, the next ball you pocket should be colored. If you pocket the wrong ball, that is called a foul and there will be no point equivalent for that ball.

Pool

There are many variations to this game and the types of equipment to use, the number of balls required, and the rules to follow differ in every variation. Basically, however, you will need 16 balls to play pool. Each ball should be 2 and 1/4 inches in diameter. Eight of the balls should have solid colors and numbered 1-8. The remaining seven balls should have a stripe and numbered 9-15. You also need one solid white ball to serve as your cue ball. The table to be used in playing pool should have pockets.

In a straight pool, the main goal is to pocket the colored balls using the cue ball. Players can pocket any ball on the table, which is equivalent to one point. Before the game starts, both players will agree on a specific number of points to reach to be declared as the winner. Usually, this is 100 points.

Billiards

Billiards game uses only three balls – red, white, and yellow. The white and yellow balls could be used as the striker ball. The balls should be 2 and 7/16 inches in diameter. You can use three different table sizes to play this game – a bar table that is 7 feet, home or recreational table that is 8 feet, or the pro or tournament table that is about 9 feet. The only difference from a standard pool table is that it doesn’t need to have pockets.

There is only one goal of playing this game. You need to score points, generally called “counts,” by bouncing your cue ball or striker ball to the other two balls on the table. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
