Hot Tub Maintenance

Hot Tub Maintenance

Sometimes new hot tub owners think that regular maintenance of hot tubs will be overwhelming.  But, really, hot tub maintenance is not hard at all.  It just requires a few minutes a week, and you’ll be relaxing in and enjoying your hot tub.  We’d like to give you a few pointers for your hot tub maintenance. Most hot tubs and spas are made with an acrylic interior shell.  Acrylic is simple to clean because it is a non-porous surface (unlike concrete pools) and germs and bacteria can’t become imbedded.  So, just keep the acrylic clean and dust-free by wiping it down with either a damp cloth or a cloth with a mild cleaner…same as your acrylic bathtub. The cover of your hot tub spa is exposed to the outdoor elements on a daily basis, so you should always use a vinyl protector application on a regular basis to give it a long life.  Most good spa and hot tub distributors will carry this product.  Make sure you don’t use the vinyl protector anywhere other than on the cover.  It is a chemical (though mild) product and you don’t want it contaminating the water.  For the underside of the cover, just use a regular garden hose and spray it down once in a while and let it air-dry on a warm sunny day. Keeping your water clean will require some basic chemicals, same as your swimming pool.  These chemicals will be added to the water to kill bacteria and other germs.  As with your swimming pool, chlorine is the most commonly used chemical sanitizers.  Your spa and hot tub retailer...
Schedule of Maintenance For Your Hot Tubs

Schedule of Maintenance For Your Hot Tubs

Proper and regular maintenance of hot tubs is important to prevent damage and repair as well as to extend its lifespan. The good thing about spa maintenance is that it can be done by homeowners without professional assistance. On the other hand, a regular schedule should be strictly followed to ensure proper maintenance and care. Here is a maintenance schedule that you can follow in order to properly take care of your hot tubs. On a daily basis: All you need to do every day with regards to maintaining your spa is to keep it covered when not in use. Aside from preventing fallen leaves and other debris from getting into the water, here are some of the benefits of keeping your spa covered when not in use. Spa covers help maintain the water temperature. As a result, the outdoor spa will no longer need to use electricity in order to maintain the right water temperature. Spa covers protect the tub’s finish from being damaged by sunlight. Covering the spa helps maintain its warranty. Spa covers prevent children and pets from playing near or in the spa, which can result in accidents including drowning. On a weekly basis: At least once a week, experts recommend testing the spa water to make sure the water chemistry is balanced and on the right levels. Keep in mind that similarly with swimming pools, chemicals are added in the right amount and proportions to the water to prevent the growth and development of algae and bacteria. Depending on the frequency of using hot tubs, the water chemistry should be tested at least once...
Taking Care Of Your Hot Tub

Taking Care Of Your Hot Tub

It’s a dream for most of us to own a hot tub. Today’s models and prices make that dream a reality more than ever before. If you’re one of the lucky ones who owns a hot tub, then you’ll surely want to know how to take care of it and maintain it properly so that you get many years of warm, satisfying soaks! Here are some tips you should follow to keep your hot tub in good working order. The Basics Of Hot Tub Care Chlorine levels: We cannot say enough how critical this step is! You need to check the chlorine levels often and make sure they are always at the right balance in order to keep the water safe. This also goes for Bromine and any other sanitizing agent. Purchase a testing kit from your local pool dealer. Use the economy mode—it saves money! You can save money on your energy bills by keeping the water’s temperature a bit lower than called for, especially if you’re not using it. When you want to take a soak, turn the temperature up around 104 degrees and enjoy! pH levels need to be regularly checked. A couple of times a week will suffice. If the pH levels are off, it can cause eyes to become irritated and the water to be cloudy. Change the water in your hot tub when necessary. A general rule of thumb is 3-4 times a year. You may choose to change it more often depending on how frequently you use it. Get a good hot tub cover! This is so important to keeping the tub...
Buying The Right Myrtle Beach Hot Tub

Buying The Right Myrtle Beach Hot Tub

Hot tubs and spas spell one thing for most of us: luxury. While they are luxurious and enjoyable, they don’t have to be unattainable. It’s easier than you think to own your own Myrtle Beach hot tub! When it comes to major investments, you have to weigh the benefit of the item to the potential cost. With hot tubs, you will no doubt enjoy it often, if not daily. It may be for physical therapy benefits, relieving muscles soreness and tension, or just for relaxation after a hard day. Whatever the case, you might be surprised at how quickly a hot tub or spa will pay for itself! What To Consider When Choosing A Hot Tub Reviews. It’s important to see what others are saying about the hot tub you are considering. Get online and read the reviews people have posted. Keep in mind, these are just opinions and may not predict your own experience. Take a good look at the features of each model and ask for help in deciding which of these features are most important for you. Good sales people will walk you through that process. Compare prices. Of course, you will want to have several price points to look at, but remember that the most expensive isn’t always the best quality and the cheaper models don’t mean they are junk. Find a price point that works for your budget and then try to get the most bang for your buck with the features. Hot tubs, like pools, can be above ground or in ground. There are benefits to both. They can also be indoors or...
